Contribute to campaigns and projects to end gender violence in the Ecuadorian Amazon
Hands-on experience designing and implementing fun and educational workshops for children who are victims of abuse
Gain practical experience supporting the operations of a non-profit and women’s shelter
Option to live in a shared volunteer house OR with a local indigenous family to immerse and learn about their traditions and perspectives
Opportunities for personal research related to domestic abuse prevention, indigenous empowerment, women’s health, and more
Participate in other cultural events, such as:

Ecotourism adventures to waterfalls and indigenous communities
Medicinal plant remedy workshops

Daily Activities
Assist staff with the day-to-day operations of the women’s shelter
Collaborate on events and programs with a local non-profit that conducts programs for children and adolescents from low socioeconomic households and victims of domestic abuse
Provide after-school homework help and tutoring
Accompany staff to community and municipal government visits
Assist with coordination of programs and administrative work
Write and edit grants
Conduct marketing research and outreach
